Thirty years of criminal defence work and a reputation for taking the cases nobody else wants.
John founded the chambers in 1996 after a decade at the criminal bar. He has appeared in the Court of Appeal eleven times and led on four cases that changed how disclosure is handled in fraud trials.
Practice
Serious fraud, homicide and appellate work. He still does his own police station attendances, which he describes as the only way to stay honest about what the job actually involves.
Education
Called to the Bar at Middle Temple in 1998 after reading Jurisprudence at Oxford. Completed pupillage at 3 Raymond Buildings under the late Sir Andrew Collins QC.
Higher Rights of Audience (Criminal) since 2001. Member of the Criminal Bar Association and the Fraud Lawyers Association.
